Generation One: Chapter Six

Welcome back! I hope the glitches from last chapter didn't scare you away ('cause they almost did me :P).

So it's week four, day two in the game and, coincidentally, little Kathryn's birthday. I suppose I'll be nice and throw her a party, although it makes me a little hesitant to have so many sims in one place (god knows when this game's gonna glitch up). Sam is off to school, and Leighton has to work today until 7, so it looks like Sam will have to miss their sister's party because it's either him or daddy, and I'm sure Kat would rather have Daddy there than her older half-brother :P

The Romper Recreation Playground at 11 am? Done. Although I was sad there was no 'Birthday Party' type listed. But oh well. That's what we have cake for. :D

I sent them over early because I knew they wouldn't get there on time, and received a notification saying some children may be left behind because there aren't enough adults to carry them. Well of course poor Loryn got the short end of that stick. But she couldn't stay home - it's silly to pay for a babysitter because you can't pick up your child - and how unfair would it be to miss her big sister's b-day party? So, using the wonders of teleportation...

And voila! Instant baby!

Now if only Mommy could figure out how to be on tiem to her OWN PARTY that would be fantastic. Daddy and the birthday girl are already set, and obviously Loryn and Caleb are there as well, but Quinn (holding Adam) is just standing there stupidly in her living room with the 'meet up' action, even though she's clearly NOT meeting up. >_< So...

I think the teleportation thing kind of freaked Adam out though.

And now it's time for Kathryn to blow out the candles.

Those jerks! They're all standing there watching Leighton teach Lor how to walk while Kat's becoming a child?! How dare!

That's better. >_< Although I could have done without all the testosterone. This is a little GIRL'S party, after all.

Oh my god is that not adorable?! xD She's so cute, I love her. <3

UGH! But the stupid random paparazzi that just showed up (wearing clothes that are WAY too young for her, might I add) and got right in the way of my pic. >_<

Hah, look at her, tryin' to scare the paparazzi with her cross-eyed demon face! <3 But seriously, makeover time. Immediately.

Much better. Now she looks the part of potential heiress. :)

Who said you get cake?! You weren't even invited! -__- So much for shelling out an extra 150 simoleons for EXCLUSIVE ACCESS. x_x

And what party would be complete without music??

... Okay, so she's not playing for free. A girl's gotta make a living, especially when she hasn't been to work since before her first kid. The tips and watchers were sparse though, so when Leighton stopped by after work to help with the kids, he and Quinn took their spawn back home, not even realizing that their oldest had already left hours ago (he was exhausted and tried to sleep in the treehouse in the park. He would have if I'd let him, but then I'd have to deal with him being out after curfew). Tsk tsk.

They returned home to find a new addition to the place. Being the only (school age) girl in the family meant she needed her own room. And she got one - all decked out in pink.

My eyes! They burn! X_X

Surprisingly, Quinn rolled a wish to send Kat to LeFromage Art School (I would have guessed culinary academy, but what do I know?), so as soon as she put Loryn to bed she enrolled Kat in boarding school. And everyone, being exhausted from the party/work/school, headed off to bed. (When I dragged Kat's IF Cuddles out of her inventory and put him on the floor by her bed, he stood there for a minute and then 'hopped' (literally) into this position):

I don't know why people don't like these guys. I think they're adorable! :)

Well all of the family seemed to want some different object, so while they slept I went and bought them all the items on their wish lists. Which included a tree house. And what does Quinn roll? 'Woohoo in a tree house'. Yay. >_< And what does Leighton roll?? 'Have another kid'. Fan-freaking -tastic. So, to get it over with (since Quinn's supposed to go to work tomorrow), I woke them up for a little pre-dawn woohoo in the kids' (brand new) clubhouse.

Is it supposed to come off the tree like that? O_o

They both got the 'Splinter' moodlet, too.

I love that. xD But that's what they get for doin' the dirty in the tree house. Those poor kids'll be traumatized if they ever find out (God I hope Sam does - see how tough that little punk is after THAT info).

It seems Leighton and Sam both have birthdays today. They don't get a party, though. They don't deserve one. Besides, there's not enough time. They can just suck it up. :P Everyone else is aging up in a couple of days (aside from Kat, of course).

Ooh, Monsieur Cuddles has come out to play.

And he matches the walls.

Just as he was about to chat with Kathryn, she had to leave for boarding school.

Do you SEE this injustice??? They're letting their baby girl go off to BOARDING SCHOOL, didn't even bother to FEED her, and they don't even care that she'll be gone until her teenage years! Look, even Kat gets it! "You jerk, you're just gonna sit there and work out while I'm starving and have to catch my ride to school for weeks?!"

I know, Kat. I know. *scowls*

After she left, Quinn stopped teaching Loryn to talk to scold Sam about something (I know, he did undermine that charity last night, but still... ), but he got out of it because the school bus had arrived. You got lucky this time. Don't mess with the step-mama. >:(

Leighton eventually headed off to work, so Quinn tried to finish teaching Loryn how to talk. She didn't quite make it, though. The carpool for work came shortly after Hubby left, so, exhausted, she called for the sitter and headed to work (Sam was going to go to Mortimer Goth's house after school, but stupid work got in the way).

As I was keeping an eye on the babysitter (they're notorious for not doing their job), a notification popped into view:

Damn, girl, he was on his way... o-o (If you had any plans on building a relationship with your step-son, think again.)

Needless to say, Sam's mood is in the red now. Like, he's failing, it's so in the red.

Caleb was having fun, at least. I bought them a costume chest and he dressed up as an astronaut.

If he were taller, and fatter he'd remind me of Gru. xD

He apparently sucks at hopscotch though.

After seeing how many in this family were beginning to get grungy, I thought I should add on a bathroom for the kids to share. So I spent the last five thousand simoleons they had on adding on a bathroom. One shower and one toilet for four people was just not cutting it.

Although I apparently forgot that they had a babysitter, so when Leighton came home there wasn't enough left to pay her with. Oops...

O_O Bitch stole the kids' light! Really?! The ONLY light in that room and you're gonna take it?! Take the toys or something, they don't care, they just wanna play with their IFs. Ugh. I take back what I was thinking. All babysitters suck. x_x

Hahaha. Leighton has passed out, but even while passed out he still has enough thought and energy left to scold his son for stopping at the store after work instead of coming straight home. (Technically he's supposed to be on lockdown, but whatevs. They needed stuff, and he was there. They can deal.)

After his scolding, Sam aged up ("Now I want have to take any crap from any of you!" *evil laughter*) to a young adult.

He still looks like a punk to me. Maybe after a little... makeover?

I only did his everyday outfit and the hair. I don't care enough to do the rest. :P He looks a little better. The curve of his mouth makes him look like a pansy though, so I felt the need to give him some more macho, bad-ass clothes to offset that. xD

I promptly kicked Sam out of the house (he's not Quinn's legitimate child anyway, and therefore not a part of this legacy - I just felt bad for him being all alone, especially since I kinda stole his dad away), and Leighton had his birthday.

Why is he so excited? He's getting OLDER.

He seems happy to look exactly the same... He must not realize that he's got age lines now.

And just as Leighton aged into an adult, I get the notification telling me that Leighton is going through a midlife crisis that will last an entire week. Hah. Hahah. Hah. xD And his first midlife crisis wish? Move to a new house. Nuh-uh, Leighton. That's not part of the rules. Why couldn't you have rolled that wish during the glitch of Chapter Five?? I moved you all then. >_<

Meanwhile, Quinn was awakened from her nap by a bout of nausea.

Please let it be some bad sushi, I'm begging you... o_o

(I don't know why, but this just makes me LOL every time. xD)

Sorry, Quinn. It's hard to take you seriously in that outfit. xD

Shortly thereafter...

O_O Oh god... (She's totally rockin' the puppies, though. xD)

How many kids is it gonna be this time? (She's definitely gonna need to play for tips in the subway; Leighton's meager salary won't be enough to expand for all these kids.)

Wish them luck... They're gonna need it.

Generation One: Chapter Five

This legacy is becoming dangerous... a teenager, a child, a toddler, and two soon-to-be toddlers? o_o It's a wonder Quinn's not going crazy yet. I mean, all they've been doing is cleaning, cooking, sleeping, and taking care of the tots while Caleb and Sam are at school. And it's only been twelve hours.

To make matters worse, Sam woke up the next morning (the morning of the twins' birthday, might I add) with the 'mood swing' moodlet. I was excited, because this is the first time I've seen it and I wanted to experiment. Naturally he rolled a rebellious wish to skip school, so after he showered I sent him to a subway in the hopes of getting him away from his parents (and avoiding a grounding). And then he wanted to egg someone's house. Now, what better house to egg than a rich person's? The Herondales already knew the Landgraabs, so Sam decided they would be the best target.

That little rebel, still throwing eggs at the door even though the owners are coming out. xP Needless to say, he disappeared pretty quick after that. He was still feeling sort of pranky though, so I sent him to the Wolff's to play a little doorbell ditch.

And then the game informed me that Leighton and Quinn had received a free vacation. Woohoo! They deserve it. ;) So a babysitter was sent over while Sam was "at school." Otherwise he could have taken care of them.

Sam spent his day looking for pranks to play and people to beat up (seriously - he had a wish to beat someone up. O_o), and eventually (without my realizing) Leighton returned from his vacay - supposedly to go to work, because Quinny is still gone. And as soon as he got home, Adam and Loryn aged up to toddlers.

This poor house is falling apart without mommy around. All of the kids are failing and Leighton's sitting at the table eating dinner. Deal with your children first, you a-hole! >_<

Grr.

And just as he was about to take care of the children's urgent needs, Sam strolled in (finally out of his mood swing) and Leighton stopped EVERYTHING HE WAS DOING to scold him and make him stand in a time out.

Haha. "What am I gonna do with this kid?!" "Can't believe he put me in a TIME OUT... What am I, a toddler like Loryn?!" xD No but seriously, Sam was not a happy camper. He promptly rolled a wish to see Leighton's ghost. O_O And then after putting a screaming Kathryn to bed, he rolled a wish to steal her candy. (Why does a toddler have candy anyway??)

Well, mommy's still on vacation, and everybody's out. They were all so exhausted (stupid babysitters not doing their jobs >_<) that they practically fell into bed. Especially the older kids; they couldn't sleep with all the little kids crying, or they would have gone to bed sooner.

And as Leighton headed off to work, Sam was forced to care for his younger half-siblings. Not doing such a great job. He already stole candy from Kathryn, and wants to move in on Loryn's stash now too?!

Sam was still in trouble for skipping work (Yeah - it said skipping his part-time job; not skipping school. u_u), so to make up for it (and maybe cancel out those candy swipes) he tried to potty train Kathryn some while dad was asleep, since she was aging up soon.

Things had gotten so filthy lately that Sam decided to clean up a little too. His good behavior must have pulled at Leighton's heartstrings because he finally let Sam off the hook. He shouldn't have done that, because Sam booby trapped the shower, and Leighton didn't realize it until it was too late.

The next afternoon Quinn and "Leighton" came home (some random glitch) from vacation, but when she arrived Quinn was invisible. O_o So I reset her, hoping that would fix it. Nope. Went into CAS with her, and then went out. Nada. Sent her to play for tips anyway, hoping something would reset her on its own and she'd be visible again, and then I see this:

It would be funny if it didn't mean something glitching. >_<

Well, after using Master Controller's 'reset everything' option she was finally fixed. (On the bright side, all the kids' moodlets reset as well, so I had more time to teach 'em stuff.) Leighton had to go to work (as usual) so Quinn settled down to teach Adam to talk while the kids played.

Aaah, the rightful order of things. :D

I'd completely forgotten with all of the issues that weekend, but since it was Sunday, it was prom day! And guess what showed up to pick up Sam?

That's right. A limo. ... Or not? For some reason, Sam got into the limo and then right back out. He'd previously invited over Judy Bunch (my mistake; thought it was Lisa. There was no picture), who showed up waddling with a cane. And then she promptly left (whether in the limo or not IDK) with a 'bad outing' notification. And Sam had no 'go to prom' actions. >_< Although he visited the school to pull a prank (which he never got to do, because his dad showed up), and the prom music was coming out of the building, so... *rolls eyes* Anywhoo. He had the 'learn to drive' wish so I'd sent his dad there to teach him, and I bought them a car and everything (not a nice one, of course; they need a nice house before they're allowed to have a nice car, IMO). But every time I clicked on either of them there was no 'teach/ask to drive' interaction. -sigh- So, Sam, you don't get to learn to drive.

Well, I sent them both home and attempted to put the kiddies in bed, but every time an adult tried to interact with the toddlers the action was almost reset from the queue. So after many issues with that, I had to evict them in Edit Town mode and place them back down. Their LTWs are still intact, but all their wishes are gone. *sigh*

But on the plus side, the family settled in that morning (it took ALL NIGHT to fix this >_<) looking quite cozy. :)

A family meal, and all the kids playing happily. ... It's not gonna last. >_<

**Well, that's it for this chapter. It's short, I know. Don't hate me. x_o; After the glitchiness I didn't feel much like playing (this was last night; I hadn't felt like finishing the chapter either xD), but I'm playing now so hopefully I can get CH. 6 out soon. :) **

The Herondale Family Tree

So thanks to familyecho.com, I've been able to keep track of all of my sims much easier. :) I've started one for the Herondale's, and you can find it here: http://www.familyecho.com/?p=COOYW&c=nbuo0giitn&f=863980129101069046. I'll be updating it accordingly, and adding pictures when I can. I'm going to have to start a new game to get Yumi Sekemoto's picture, but other than that it's completely up to date. :)

Generation One: Chapter Four

On the last episode of The Herondale Matriarchy, Quinn found herself in the family way again. As if she didn't have enough to worry about, what with a (relatively) new husband, a toddler, and a big rock star dream to live up to.

That's your fault, Quinny. It takes two to tango, ya know. ;)

The next few days passed quickly. Quinn spent a lot of her time sleeping, eating, and running to the spa for massages, while Leighton catered to her needs, took care of Caleb, and did the housework. Not to mention going to work at the stadium. He was even forced to gain a skill level in handiness because things were breaking all over the place.

Well Quinn decided it was time for another massage, so I sent her off to the spa. And since Leighton and Caleb seemed bored by their surroundings, and Leighton could use some more handiness, I sent the two of them to the library to do a bit of reading.

Well, shortly after they arrived I received a notification about Quinn. Not bothering to read it, I paused and zoomed in on her, and this is what I find:

Quinn, going into labor, while some moron just stands there scratching his head. >_< Idiot.

Needless to say, I sent her home to have the baby. Leighton and Caleb would join her, just as soon as he gained another level... -_-;

So after several hours of labor, little miss Kathryn Herondale was born.

Aww, isn't she beautiful? (Minus the dents, of course.) Leighton thinks so, too. :)

So Quinn and Leighton fed and changed the kids and put them to bed, and followed soon after. After all, it had been a long day for them. (Yeah, 'cause reading books and carrying a child is such hard work. >_>) But as much as she loved her family, I think Quinn was missing out on some social time. So she invited her coworkers to the park the next morning to kill two birds with one stone: improve her relationship with them and get out of the house. (Yumi Sekemoto died the next day - and inspite of all Leighton's efforts to invite her over to meet her grandkids before her passing, she just wouldn't do it. *sigh* )

(That's Zelda Mae, I believe. I felt she needed a bit of a makeover, so I altered her hair and makeup a bit. The orange lipstick was just a bit too much for me. Also, note the creepy paparazzi watching them. He obviously hasn't taken 'Stealth Creeping 101' yet.)

And meanwhile Leighton is asleep when he should be working, and his poor children are screaming their heads off because they're hungry and dirty. >_< He may be cute with them, but he's not a very good father, is he?

That's right, Leighton. Rush off to work and leave the babysitter to do your job. I don't see the point, though; the game is almost over and your team won - without you, might I add. Idiot.

Well, that evening, thanks to the magic of adjustable age span, Kathryn aged up into a toddler.

Well, minus that hairstyle, she's an adorable little toddler.

Shortly after, as is apparently tradition, Quinn and Leighton had a little "adult time."

Things went back to normal the next day. Quinn did all the housework while Leighton slept. Quinn was in the middle of teaching Kathryn how to talk, and then all of a sudden she felt queasy and had to run to the bathroom.

..... You've got to be kidding me. >_<

Don't they know what the word 'protection' means?!

Well, maybe Leighton'll get to fulfill his LTW after all.

Since Leighton had to go to work, Quinn decided to leave the kids with the babysitter and head to the spa (man does she love being pampered) for a few hours. Could've used a better babysitter, though. The idiot just stood outside and left poor Kat inside crying for food. >_<

Quinn's pregnancy was confirmed just as she sat down to dinner (and it's not looking too good; I accidentally gave the parents the Fertility Treatment reward. o-o; ), which means a lot of headaches in the future.

At least she's wearing something somewhat cute this time.

...

Moving along. The next day, Quinn went to the spa and spent the day in the subway playing for tips, so Leighton had to take care of the children in between going to work and sleeping. He invited his son Sam over, since he was living by himself now that his grandma had passed, with the intent on moving his son in with his new family. Caleb also had a birthday, so he aged up to a child.

And since the Herondale's have been very good about not spending much money, I decided they needed a few additions to their abode.

Not too shabby for a girl who started out with nothing, huh? ;) ... Okay, so the paint scheme doesn't match, but you know what? I can only do so much. So you can deal with the purple and green walls until you've got a bit more money for that kind of thing.

Surprisingly, Sam rolled a wish to snuggle his little half-sister Kathryn (also surprisingly, Miraj Alvi called him after school to invite him to prom). That isn't necessarily the surprising part - what surprised me was that he rolled it and he's evil. O_o Granted, he doesn't look too thrilled holding her, but she seems to love him already. :)

After putting her to bed, he and Caleb went to the table to do their homework. And as Quinn was getting ready for bed, it happened. O_O

INCOMING!!!!

...

Of course, she was so tired that she ended up passing out in the living room (consequently, Sam stopped doing his homework to conveniently freak out about Quinn. Note that her own son doesn't even care).

Quinn had twins this time, a boy and a girl (first time that's ever happened to me with twins!): Loryn and Adam. Hopefully THIS IS IT for kids. xD

Next time we'll see how the Herondale's handle having all these kids - and whether or not they have more. ;)
